Elizabeth Ann Thomson Scholarship

The late Elizabeth "Betsy" Thomson '05 was an avid supporter of children with special needs who taught exceptional children at Nation Ford High School in Fort Mill, S.C. Betsy, a native of Rhode Island, also taught at the Metro School in Charlotte, N.C. She earned her B.S. in special education at Winthrop, where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. In addition, Betsy served as a Special Olympics state coach.

To honor her memory and passion for education, Betsy's father, Jim Thomson, established the Elizabeth Ann Thomson Scholarship. Your gift to the Thomson Scholarship will help support Winthrop students majoring in early childhood education, elementary education, middle level education, special education, music education, dance education, or other education certification programs.
