Vivian Moore Carroll '73 - President Vivian received a B.S. degree in Mathematics from Winthrop in 1973 and a MBA from UNC Charlotte in 1983. She is serving as President of the Alumni Association, having formerly served as President-Elect and Secretary. She has also served as chair of the Alumni Association Credentials Committee and the Awards Committee. Vivian is retired from Merrill Lynch in Charlotte, where she was an assistant vice president and financial consultant. Vivian has served on a number of charity and arts boards. Currently, she is a member of the Board of Directors of the American Red Cross and was recently elected a Trustee for the Metropolitan YMCA that oversees the 17 YMCA’s in the Charlotte area. Vivian was recognized in 2002 with the George Williams service award for her work at the Harris YMCA. Vivian is an active member of Providence Baptist Church where she sings in the choir. Her hobbies include watercolor painting, needlepoint and other crafts. She loves snow skiing and traveling. Vivian and her husband Larry have one son, Kris. Her greatest joy is her new grandson, Harlan, born 1/12/08.

Timothy L. Hopkins '83, '85, '00 - President Elect Tim received a B.A. from Winthrop in 1983, followed by his M.Ed. in 1985 and an Ed.S. in 2000. Tim formerly served as a member of the Alumni Association Credentials Committee and as the Class of 1983 agent on the Annual Fund Loyalty Council. He currently is Executive Director of Elementary Education for the Kershaw County School District, having previously served as Director of Student Assessment and as an Elementary School Principal. He is currently Past-President of the Kershaw County Alumni Club and is a past Executive Committee Member of the Kershaw County Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center. Tim enjoys reading, studying history, and basketball. He and his wife Jewel (Winthrop Class of 1984) have two children, Corbin and Alexia.

Kimberly Harris Spears '85 - First Vice President Kimberly received a B.A. degree from Winthrop in 1985. Kimberly has served as Executive Director for the Anderson County Arts Center since 1993, having previously served as Program Director for eight years. Kimberly has served on the Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce board of directors, Leadership Anderson board of regents and is a graduate of Leadership South Carolina 2003. She serves as past-president of the SC Arts Alliance and as member of the Downtown Revitalization Steering Committee, the National Issues Forum Committee for the Area Chamber and the Anderson Soiree Festival board of directors and festival committee. Kimberly was identified as the Arts and Culture Leader in Anderson by the Anderson Independent-Mail survey of leaders in the community 2004-2005 and was awarded the 2005 “Pointing the Way” Award for leadership. Statewide she has served the SC Arts Commission as a grants panelist and featured marketing speaker at the Statewide Conference on the Arts and the Strom Thurmond Institute Workshop for rural arts grantees. She serves on the Salvation Army Boy’s and Girl’s Club advisory board and is a founding member of the April House, a shelter and education initiative for women with substance abuse. Kimberly and her husband Bill have three children, twins Brad and Chelsea and daughter Chloe.

Kristen Gebhart Magee '95 - Second Vice President Kristen received a B. S. degree in Business Administration from Winthrop in 1995 and an MBA from Clemson University in 2000. She is department manager for Medical Associates of the Greenville Hospital System. She is currently serving as Secretary for the Alumni Association, having formerly served as chair of the Young Alumni Council and Association Restructure Task Force, and member of the Greenville County Alumni Executive Committee. Kristen received the Outstanding Young Alumni Award 2001. Her hobbies are road cycling, mountain biking and spending time with friends. Her husband, Jim, is Senior Engineer with Kemet Electronics and they have two sons, Alex (4/02) and Thomas (8/03).

Maria Malambri Hedinger '93, '96 - Secretary Maria earned a B.A. in Psychology in 1993, and a MAT in Social Studies in 1996. She is busy as a stay at home mom and Educational Consultant for Usborne Books at Home. Maria has been a reunion chair, member of the Metrolina Area Alumni, and former Rock Hill Alumni Club Executive Committee member. She has also served as chair of the Florence Crittenton Young Professionals Board. Maria is currently a volunteer for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Maria’s husband, Eric, class of 1996, is employed with Providence Day School. They have two children, Emma (11/03) and Liam (12/05). She enjoys reading and traveling.

Linda Knox Warner '80 - Treasurer Linda currently serves as Treasurer and Finance Chair of the Alumni Association, a position she has held since 1987. She received a B.S. in Business Administration from Winthrop in 1980. Linda served as Chair of the Alumni Association’s Affinity Card Task Force. She has served as a member of the Winthrop University Foundation Board since 1987, currently serving on its Operations Committee. A former tax auditor with the South Carolina Department of Revenue, Linda is currently a CPA with Bernard N. Ackerman, CPA, PA in Rock Hill. She is a member of the SC Association of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs. Linda is a member of Oakland Baptist Church where she has served as a deacon and sings in the choir. She enjoys walking, kayaking, and antique shopping. Linda’s husband, David, works with the City of Rock Hill’s Economic and Urban Development Department.

Kasey Johnson Walther '69 - Immediate Past President Kasey received a B.S. degree in Physical Education from Winthrop in 1969 and holds a Master in Education from Arizona State University. Kasey is serving as Immediate Past President of the Alumni Association and has formerly served as President and First Vice President. She has previously been employed in sales, real estate and teaching. She has served as a caseworker for the American Red Cross, the Military Wives Club Scholarship Committee as Co-Chair and Advisor, the Military Family Support Center and Military Thrift Shop as advisor. Kasey and her husband, John, have two children, Greer and Jay. Kasey enjoys reading, gardening, traveling, shopping and football games.
