Professional NetworkAlumni looking for ways to support Winthrop now have the opportunity to help shape the lives of students, while enhancing their own professional development.

The Office of Alumni Relations has worked closely with the Center for Career and Civic Engagement to launch EAGLElink, a free professional networking and career recruitment service for Winthrop students and alumni.

“The results of the recent Alumni Attitude Survey showed that alumni wanted an online vehicle to network, find mentorships and post resumes. We heard the requests, and we are glad to offer this service to alumni," said Debbie Garrick ’87, ‘89, associate vice president of University Development and Alumni Relations and executive director of of the Winthrop University Alumni Association.

As part of the NACElink Network, a national Web-based system that posts jobs for college students and graduates, Winthrop’s EAGLElink allows members to research and apply for career opportunities, learn about upcoming alumni and career events, develop and post resumes, and network with professionals.

Alumni can stay connected to current students and fellow alumni through three registration options, as professional mentors, employers/community partners or members.

Through the Professional Network component of EAGLElink, alumni volunteer to be professional mentors allowing students and other alumni to contact them about their career, industry and employment expertise and experience.

“Many of our employers are Winthrop alumni looking to hire Winthrop students,” said Amy Sullivan, director for Center for Career and Civic Engagement. “This is really a win-win situation for everyone involved. Students gain invaluable insight from alumni mentors, and alumni have a way to interact with students they paved the way for at Winthrop.”

Alumni interested in hiring current Winthrop students and graduates can post full- and part-time positions, as well as internship and volunteer opportunities on EAGLElink for free through a separate Employer/Community Partner login site.

According to Sullivan, the Center for Career and Civic Engagement offers many free services for alumni, including mock interviews, resume critiques, and workshops. Learn more about these services.
