The quality and strength of our university relies, to a great degree, on the continued support and involvement of our alumni constituency. It was upon this belief that dedicated alumni and college officials founded the Winthrop Alumni Association in 1889.

Today, we offer our alumni many different ways to get involved and show their school pride. Comprised of more than 50,000 active alumni worldwide, the purpose of the Alumni Association is to promote the growth, progress and general welfare of Winthrop University, and to foster a sentiment of regard among its former students and a continuing attachment to their alma mater.

There are no annual dues or special requirements for becoming a member of the association. All it takes is your dedication to actively stay in touch with the university. As an Association member, you have the opportunity to sustain the university’s rich heritage and traditions.

While Winthrop is firmly rooted in century-old tradition, the university must also constantly upgrade to keep up with the changing times. Stay informed of Winthrop’s traditions of excellence and its growth through the resources of the Alumni Association website.
